Harvey Elliott makes final decision about his Liverpool future
Harvey Elliott's 2025-26 season will be one that he'll want to forget about.

However, after Unai Emery decided that he didn't want to sign the 23-year-old permanently, he ended up spending most of his time on the sidelines and only featured in nine games across all competitions for the Villans.
This led to him spending a season where he has hardly been able to develop and wondering what his next steps could be.
And, now that Liverpool have a new manager at the helm, it feels like anything is possible for the young Englishman.
That's why the latest update to emerge about his future should be something to be celebrated.
Harvey Elliott wants to stay at Liverpool this season
If Arne Slot was still Liverpool's manager, it feels like Elliott and Curtis Jones would have already been moved on.
For one reason or another, the Dutchman didn't trust either of them and, even when Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch weren't performing well, the two Englishman rarely ever got a look in.
That is, despite Jurgen Klopp being one of their biggest fans.
However, now that Slot is gone, a new era is about to grace Liverpool and for Elliott, it doesn't feel like this managerial change could have come at a better time.
In fact, Football Insider are now reporting that Elliott wants to stay at Anfield and prove his worth to Iraola, rather than be moved on to another club.
"Harvey Elliott is keen to prove himself to Andoni Iraola and win his place back in the Liverpool squad this summer, sources have told Football Insider," they wrote.
"The 23-year-old is back on Merseyside for pre-season after a dismaying loan spell at Aston Villa last term.
"He was restricted to making just nine appearances across all competitions for the Villans as they avoided exercising his £35million buy clause.
"Iraola has welcomed him back into the Reds fold this summer as he assesses all of the options available to him in several positions.
"As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Elliott is receptive to his thoughts and wants to stay at Anfield for the coming season.
"He is in line to make his first appearance for the club in close to a year when Liverpool face Sunderland in their maiden friendly of the summer next week."

Elliott was Klopp's star boy during his time as Liverpool manager.
The German brought the youngster to Anfield and developed him into one of his most important players.
Initially, he started out as a right-winger but, once it was clear that he was never going to get any faster, Klopp converted him into a central midfielder and made him one of the first names on his team sheet.
Indeed, the performances that Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were putting in made it hard for him to get playing time and, since Liverpool chose to sign Florian Wirtz last summer, it was clear that Elliott wasn't in their plans.
But, now that they need homegrown players and could do with some more versatile bodies among their ranks, Elliott ticks a lot of boxes and is still young enough that he could develop into an even better player than he already is.
Keeping the 23-year-old around would also allow Liverpool to save some money on a new midfielder and spend it elsewhere instead.
Here's hoping that Iraola can see how good he is and that he gives him another chance to prove his worth.
